The Sony hdr-hc5 is a Mini-DV format camcorder - one of the few still available in this format. This format is a tape cartridge, and is a little cumbersome to use... but the camcorders that use this technology have a GREAT benefit.... the cost is extremely low!!!

In addition, the HC5 records in full HD format!  Having HD quality recording with the low cost of the mini-DV format is definitely something to look at.

What do you NOT like about your camcorder?: There is honestly nothing I don't like about it! :-)

Anything else you would like to tell us about your camcorder?: I recommend this camcorder to everyone who just wants to point and shoot and produce beautiful looking video.
