Its 2- and 3-megapizxel sensors and built-in strobe allows users to simultaneously capture videos and photos. Priced between USD 599.97 and USD 762.19, the HDR-UX7 showcases a whole lot of improvement from its HDR-UX1 predecessor. The model retained the microphone jack and manual controls, accounting for its bulkier build.
The Sony HDR-UX7 may be big but surprisingly, it does not take much to handle it effectively. The Menu is similar to those featured in HDR-UX1 and HDR-SR1. The spacing between the buttons are much more logical and there is even a new toolbox menu, where users could see shortcuts for both photo and video modes to enable switching image sizes, microphone levels, and shifting between recording modes.
Make and model of your camcorder?: Sony HDR-UX7 How would you describe your camcorders video and audio quality?: Good What are your camcorders controls like to use?: Adequate What do you like most about your camcorder?: The fact it offered high definition video with the ease of a DVD camcorder. Easy to use and easy to shoot with. What do you NOT like about your camcorder?: The HD video was not that great. You only get about 15 minutes of filming per disc with HD!!! Really long (and annoying) boot up time and sony sales pitch for their discs. You will also need to buy a new Sony DVD player if you want to watch the DVD on the TV, as AVCHD is not compatible with many players. Forget about editing. Anything else you would like to tell us about your camcorder?: Don't bother and stick with a SD DVD camcorder if you want an easy life. HD has all sorts of issues that they don't tell about in the shop. Buck Stanson. United States.

Although the dials of this model might need a little time to get used to, the quality of the videos is never compromised. The HDR-UX7, however, is relatively easy to use and handle especially compared to other Sony camcorders that have smaller LCD screens. This model has a larger touch-screen system plus an Easy mode that automatically locks dials and pops out a simpler menu interface. The 3.5” LCD screen, taking up the whole side of the camcorder, is definitely one of the best upgrades on this model. The 0.27” wide viewfinder of 123K resolution is worth the added market value.
