While all the other big boys are fighting for top dog position with their multiple formats, Hitachi only have eyes for their award winning DVD camcorders.

But not just any old DVD either. No sir. Hitachi have brazenly stepped up to the plate and have jumped straight in the deep end with a Blu-Ray DVD digital camcorder, the Hitachi DZ-BD7HA.

They obviously like a fight ;-)

With the rest of the camcorder manufacturers wrestling for position with their HDD and AVCHC camcorders, Hitachi ignores them all and boldly goes where no one has gone before.

And with good reason.

Their new camcorder may look like a spaceship from the future and be the poster boy for all the geeks out there with it's Blu-Ray logo emblazoned over the side, but is there much going on under the bonnet?
