The touch screen Sony DCR-SR45 is very user-friendly though its resolution may not be of the best quality. It has features that are quite impressive. It goes off to recording quickly, has a 40x Optical Zoom, and an stereo zoom audio microphones to capture audio better. The DCR-SR45 only works with Windows software.

The video quality of footage take via the Sony DCR-SR45 is good enough to share online. If you are used to HD video, you will more likely be disappointed. The camcorder does not have an optical image stabilization even though it features ultra-long lens. This minor problem requires users to use a tripod when recording close-up.

The silver-and-black color is basic but elegant. It is a welcome improvement from its predecessor, the DCR-SR42.

The Sony DCR-SR45 navigation buttons are still placed in line with your thumb. The Quick On button and other activity lights are easy to locate. The shutter button for stills is situated on top of the camera. A mini-USB port and an AV-out port are also available.
