The video quality of footage take via the Sony DCR-SR45 is good enough to share online. If you are used to HD video, you will more likely be disappointed. The camcorder does not have an optical image stabilization even though it features ultra-long lens. This minor problem requires users to use a tripod when recording close-up. With a price range if between USD 338.95 and USD 599.99 in the online market, the Sony DCR-SR45’s not-so-good resolution may be the only source of disappointment for owners. Weighing only a total of 14 ounces, you could take your camcorder with you anywhere at the spur of the moment. It is 3.1 inches high, 3in wide and 4.5in in depth. The silver-and-black color is basic but elegant. It is a welcome improvement from its predecessor, the DCR-SR42. The Sony DCR-SR45 navigation buttons are still placed in line with your thumb. The Quick On button and other activity lights are easy to locate. The shutter button for stills is situated on top of the camera. A mini-USB port and an AV-out port are also available.
